Karina Vertlib

Karina Vertlib is a corporate commercial lawyer licensed in British Columbia and Ontario. She has advised a broad range of business clients, form start-ups and owner-operated enterprises to large corporations, across various industries: technology, art and entertainment, hospitality and tourism, education, and healthcare and wellness.

Her practice includes:

- Advising on regulatory compliance ​including advertising, privacy, and consumer protection

- Drafting and negotiating business contracts with suppliers, distributors, and customers

- Drafting and negotiating commercial leases

- Drafting employment agreements, termination packages and workplace policies

- Advising both employers and employees on workplace disputes

- Advising on IP protection strategies including drafting licensing agreements, NDA agreements and assignment agreements

- Assisting with IP enforcement strategies, including drafting cease and desist letters, and advising on infringement risk management

- Asset and share purchases and sales

- Acting for borrowers and lenders in a broad range of secured and debt financing transactions

Karina regularly assists creatives in starting and protecting their businesses. She has assisted artists, developers, agencies, influencers, and other content creators in securing robust intellectual property rights and safeguarding the integrity of their creative works.

Karina is also licensed in Ontario.

 

Puneet Riar

Puneet practises in business litigation and commercial disputes. She advises and represents companies and individuals in matters involving contracts, shareholder and partnership conflicts, debt recovery, and other corporate disputes. Puneet has appeared before the Provincial Court of British Columbia, the Supreme Court of British Columbia, and the Court of Appeal for British Columbia.

Puneet remains engaged in the legal community as an active member of the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers, the South Asian Bar Association of British Columbia, the Vancouver Bar Association, and the Canadian Bar Association. She is a volunteer member of the Trial Lawyers Association of BC New Lawyer Planning Committee and regularly volunteers with Access Pro Bono.
